#9 - Introducing...The Temp!
Back again for another action-packed Wednesday, chock full of Saves the Day excitement and adventure! (Jedi need not crave these things!)
Here's your chance to meet yet another character in the growing Saves the Day universe. The Temp is a gag character I developed along with The Office Clerk while I was temping in an office. I created the Clerk as a distraction and because I had a massive itch to draw. The Temp was just a pathetic schlub like me who just had to be thrown into the mix.
I hope you enjoy and return next week for more Saves the Day. Thank you for reading.
Also, beginning Sunday, August 4, Saves the Day will move to its new frequency and format. Be prepared for more webcomic action here on the blog. Allow me to post the new schedule:
Sundays - Color editions of Saves the Day with a continuing storyline exclusive to this format.
Wednesdays - New Comic Book Day strips for the comic fan in us all. Again, this format will have its own storyline.
Fridays - Fridays will feature one-off strips with new character introductions, flashbacks, and guest work from readers and friends of the webcomic.
Also, also - I will be releasing the first in a series of horror webcomics through my new strip Tenebrous Tales. Check out this week's premiere strip @ http://tenebroustalescomic.blogspot.com/
Stay tuned for fun!

New Logo!
Mr. Jake Ignatowicz, a reader and longtime internet pal, sparked an idea when he sent me a reworking of the comic's banner. I've worked through three versions myself before settling on the header for the blog and the header for each strip. I felt that the header for the blog had to look professional, and that each strip's header should look as organic alongside the artwork as possible. Things have changed.
Going forward I'll be using the above logo/banner for all things Saves the Day. I spent about four-to-five hours today reworking the previous designs and drawing a new "Sign Hero." I hope that it's fancy enough to be pleasing to your eyes, dear readers.
Thank you, Jake, for inspiring me to fancy things up around here.

Reader Contribution - Jake Ignatowicz's Fancy Logo
Reader and internet pal Jake Ignatowicz submitted this piece to me this afternoon. He made the strip's humble logo all sparkly and stuff.
Super thanks to Mr. Ignatowicz for this contribution to Saves the Day!

#8 - The Office Clerk Flashes Back! - Part 3 (Conclusion)
It's Wednesday, July 17, and you're reading another edition of Saves the Day!
Here is the conclusion to the three-part Office Clerk flashback explaining his frustrations with Manno-Canno. This story arc, the first ever for the strip, was created in response to reader questions which inquired as to why the Clerk seemed so steamed by Manno-Canno's appearance in Saves the Day Strip #5. Originally the Clerk was going to react in such a way because of his petty issue with tomatoes, but I thought, why not delve deeper and really give the inquiring readers some actual answers? So, here it is, concluded at last.
Now for a piece of news. In August there will be a significant change in the frequency and format of Saves the Day. I will be releasing the strip THREE TIMES A WEEK beginning with the first Wednesday in August. Following that you can get new Saves the Day on Sundays, Wednesdays, and on Fridays to give your week the satisfying closure that it deserves. Sundays will feature colored offerings with their own story continuity (in the tradition of old newspaper Sunday strips), Wednesdays will be in black and white to continue with that format and the honoring of New Comic Book Day, and Fridays will feature random stories, flashbacks, and character one-offs.
Let me know what you think about the new formats and schedules by commenting here or on Twitter. Also, if you'd like to help support the comic I am, as stated below, willing to sell t-shirts sporting whichever strip, character, or Saves the Day-related design you choose. Your support is welcome and much appreciated, and it will help me keep up on the expense of supplies to maintain the strip. The shirts will be $10 plus $3 for shipping. Just email me at the address below with your special design request, shirt size, and address. Thank you.

#6 - The Office Clerk Flashes Back! - Part 1
Welcome back, friends. We have here another color edition at the start of the new month, and this one is in response to reader queries. Several of you asked, "What's the deal between The Office Clerk and the newly introduced Manno-Canno?" This is the first part of the explanation, I suppose.
Stay tuned for more, coming to you weekly. Same New Comic Wednesday, same Blogger channel!

Newsflash - Another Webcomic Is In the Works!
After working on Saves the Day for months, and delivering it to you fantastic folk for a little over a month, I've decided to go ahead and add another comic to my workload. I've got a bunch of ideas swimming around in my head and one has recently leapt into my lap, begging to be developed. The excited child-like creative part of my mind demands that I give in and put out more material.
I'll post updates and an eventual link to the new comic's blog in the next month. Stay tuned for more material for Saves the Day plus sneak peeks at what's coming next!
Thank you very much for reading and for supporting my efforts with your kind words (those of you who've corresponded with me in regard to the comic know who you are)!

#5 - The Coming of Manno-Canno!
Who shall stand forth a hero today? Why, Manno-Canno, naturally. He's out besting crime, a smelly tomato soup can firmly in place over his head.
The Office Clerk hates tomato soup, by the way. Just some insider information for you, the cool kids. Now you can tell your friends that you're a part of the elite!

As the comic continues and if it shows any sort of growth, I'd love to feature and promote the artwork of fellow artists. If you have an idea for a strip or a hero, draw it and send it to me at jonathansample.comics(at)gmail.com, or fill out the contact form at the bottom of the blog.
I hope to one day be able to feature some awesome guest work!
